Active Rehabilitation Services

At Burrard Physiotherapy, we recognize the importance that an early return to activity plays in lifestyle and function. Although all our clients can expect to be given specific exercises to help their recovery, we also offer extended Active Rehab for those patients and insurers who are having trouble returning to their pre-injury levels of function.

Rehabilitation Program Outlines

Three-Hour Program


This program is aimed at clients who are not currently working or are only working part time or who are on a graduated return to work. It is an intensive conditioning program (3 hours/day, 5 days/week) to restore a person to their normal ADL and work activities.

  • Group stretch and floor exercises including core stability approx. 1 ¼ hour
  • Individual program includes
  • Cardiovascular component
  • Free weights
  • Theraband
  • Proprioception
  • Ball exercises
  • Specific core stability
  • Functional, work specific
  • Education including, soft tissue injury healing, back injury, lifting and ergonomics.

At work or short program – 1 ½ to 2 hours

This program is aimed at people who are working, working part time or who are on a graduated return to work, or have significant time constraints. It is attended a minimum of three times per week, up to 5 times per week.

  • Group stretch and floor exercises including core stability approx. 20 minutes
  • Individual program includes
  • Cardiovascular component
  • Free weights
  • Theraband
  • Proprioception
  • Ball exercises
  • Specific core stability
  • Functional, work specific
  • Education including, soft tissue injury healing, back injury, lifting and ergonomics
