Back pain can come from a weak core

Even if you think you are exercising regularly and are fit, neglecting, intentionally or by accident, certain parts of your body can have disastrous consequences. Backpain is a far too common malady that affects Canadians. We all know of someone complaining of chronic back pain. Getting pills or surgery can be a short-term fix for a long-term problem.

A lot of back pain can come from postural and alignment issues. Catching it soon may allow you to fix it by strengthening with exercise. Consult with your Physiotherapist first is important to ensure stretching is appropriate to recovery and if so, often a simple exercises like lying on your back and pulling your knees to your chest may relieve pressure on the nerves in your spine. Getting your muscles active and giving your joints some freedom can greatly affect your comfort.

Whether it’s bending over to tie your shoes or swinging a golf club, a strong and activated core will help make all range of motions easier. Poor posture, pain and injures are all prone with a weak core. Two things to think about when talking core is core strength and core stability. Core strength can give you abs that you can show off while core stability can keep you walking tall and upright. The deep internal muscles close to the spine can keep back healthy and functional if exercised properly.
