          (Siti) Farhana Abdul Kadir

          BAppSc, (Phty), APAM
          Registered Physiotherapist, MCPA

A noted local Vancouver physiotherapist, Farhana graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia, with a BAppSc (Physiotherapy) in 2008, on a Health Sciences Scholarship from Singapore. Since graduation, she has worked in an acute hospital, rotating through intensive care, general medicine, geriatrics, and orthopaedics. From there, she went into outpatient spinal care and sports medicine. In the latter, she was working in a multidisciplinary sports clinic with in-house sports doctors, orthopaedic surgeons, podiatrists, dietitians, and exercise physiologists. In those formative years, she provided physiotherapy coverage for a variety of sporting events, including the 2009 Asian Youth Games, 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games, 2012 Asian Netball Championships, and other sports from triathlons to soccer. Assimilating the knowledge and skills gathered from these experiences, she ventured into private practice and has since worked in various parts of Australia, including Queensland, Darwin, and rural Western Australia.

Born and raised in Singapore, Farhana grew up playing netball competitively and was on the national youth teams. Her focus is on orthopaedics, with special interest in knees and ankles, having herself gone through an ACL reconstruction as well as an ankle ORIF due to sports injuries. The first-hand experience of being on the other side of the table has helped her gain further empathy, understanding, and compassion as a healthcare provider. She is excited to be in Vancouver and is looking forward to building a network of happy clients.
