Burrard Physiotherapy is now offering Telerehab sessions to help you reach your physiotherapy goals while our clinic remains closed.
A telerehab session is a live, 1-on-1, online physiotherapy session. Each telerehab session is completed from the comforts of your own home. All you need is a reliable internet connection and mobile device (laptop or cell phone). A typical telerehab session will begin just like a normal physiotherapy session at the clinic; your therapist will gather relevant information and listen to what you have to say. Your therapist will then deliver patient education and prescribe exercises through the telerehab platform.
Who is appropriate for telerehab services?
Telerehab services are appropriate for all musculoskeletal injuries and most post-op rehabilitation programs. Telerehab viability will be assessed on a case by base basis by your treating therapist. Factors including but not limited to type of injury, stage of healing, mobility status will all be taken into account when determining whether telerehab is right for you.
How do I book a telerehab session?
How do I access my telerehab session online?
Please sign into your email 5 minutes before your scheduled session. Your therapist will email you an invitation link. Just click the link and you will be redirected to the telerehab platform! Easy as 1,2, 3.
What can I expect from a telerehab session?
Telerehab can be a very effective form of physiotherapy as it ensures your concerns are both seen and heard. Your therapist will deliver patient education and prescribe exercises using creative audiovisual cues. Although manual therapy cannot be performed virtually, the key exercise components of rehab can be effectively communicated through telerehab. We are confident that you will still come away from a telerehab session with satisfaction and confidence regarding your physiotherapy goals.
At Burrard Physiotherapy we want to make sure that you have our ongoing support during these unprecedented times. Our new telerehab services will ensure your physio goals and needs will continue to be met.
